Artist Submissions
At Deloney Newkirk Galleries we feel that considering new artists is very important and we give these considerations great care. We are always interested in seeing new work, but
because of the volume of submissions we receive we ask you follow the following guidelines to insure that your work is given a thorough review.
First, take a detailed look at our website or visit our galleries to understand the type of work we exhibit. Once you have some understanding of our direction, and you honestly feel
your work would be appropriate for us, you may send a submission using these
guidelines:
Please submit photographs, digital images on CD or DVD, or a website address only. We do not accept slides. When submitting materials, please mark your envelope
“Artist Submission” and mail it to:

Provide the following with your submission:
1. Representations of your work (one of the following):
Photographs (duplicates only, please don’t send originals) or scanned images of your work. Each image should be labeled with the artist’s name, title of work, date, gallery price, medium and dimensions. Please limit your submission to 10 images.
2. Cover letter.
3. Resume.
4. Brief Artist Statement (no more than one page).
5. Self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE), with sufficient return postage. IF YOU DO NOT INCLUDE AN SASE WE WILL NOT RETURN YOUR SUBMISSION! Because of the volume of submissions, we prefer to return your materials by mail. Do not come by the gallery to pick up your materials unless you call first to make an appointment.
6. If you would like to have your work reviewed on a website, please e-mail your URL to
info@deloneynewkirk.com. Please note “Artist Submission” in the subject line of your
email, and include an introduction and a brief Artist Statement.
We receive numerous submissions and review them on an on-going basis
in the order that they arrive. IT GENERALLY TAKES 3-6 WEEKS TO REVIEW YOUR SUBMISSION AND WE WILL NOT CONTACT YOU UNLESS WE ARE INTERESTED IN FURTHER DISCUSSIONS ABOUT YOUR WORK.
If you
have had a change of address, please notify us by phone or email. If we send materials to
the address you have provided and they are returned to us, we will dispose of the materials.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL regarding the status of your materials, as we will respond to those submissions we have an interest in as soon as they have been reviewed by the Gallery staff.
Materials can be dropped off at the gallery during regular hours (Monday to Sunday – 10am to 5pm), but they will not be
reviewed at that time. |
